Dear Parents / Caregivers
Thank you to parents who have outfitted their children in
the winter uniform. Parents have until 16 May to make the change over
from summer to winter uniform.
Education Review Office Report
Our Education Review Office (ERO) report has arrived. The Board of
Trustees is meeting tonight to discuss it and see if there are any changes
that they would like ERO to make to the report. We are extremely
pleased with the draft report which identifies Tokoroa Intermediate as a
“high performing school”. The report will be made available
to parents as soon as the “confirmed report” is available.

Netball Success
On 16 April the Form 1A netball team made up of Chrae Awatere (C), Heavenlee
Proebstal, Nadine Moore, Leimoanike’a Makekau, Nicole Bartie, Jessica Ria,
Ashley Tauroa and Mariah Clarke travelled to Putaruru to compete in the Van
Dyks Netball Tournament. They played exceptionally well, winning all
of their games convincingly and were outright winners of the Year Seven
grade.
A special thank you must go to Heavenlee for joining our squad at short
notice and then proving resolute in defence and also to Ashley and Nicole
who showed great attitude and team commitment.
The Form 2A team made up of Lorraine Churchward, An-Shaleen Koopu, Nikayla
Cobham, Paige Stuart, Shaunni Ngatai-McCaskill, Charlotte Karaka, Mikayla
King, Alaya-Jay Turia, Chloe Pomare and Kelly Nicholas, also competed in the
Van Dyks Tournament. As a team they performed exceptionally well and
also won all of their games to bring home the Year 8 trophy.
I would like to thank the team coaches and managers for their work with the
teams; Angela Ria, Amy Awatere, Korio Turia and Donna Nicholas. Thanks
also to Forest View High School students Nom Stairmand and Jennifer Flintoff
(ex pupils Tokoroa Intermediate School) who gave up their Saturday to
accompany the two teams as umpires for the day. If it wasn’t for the
time and commitment of parents and friends of the school, then there would
not be the sporting opportunities our students presently have.
