Dear Parents / Caregivers

Settling in Reports

These will be given out to students to take home tomorrow (Room 4 will take their reports home today as Mrs Cresswell will not be at school tomorrow).  The Settling In Reports are not an academic report.  They indicate how well the children have settled into Intermediate this year.  After reading the Settling In Reports I was pleased to note that the vast majority of Year 7 students have settled into Intermediate school without any problems.

Bullying & "Hands Off"

I have pointed out in an earlier newsletter and at the Parent Meeting in February that we are taking instances of bullying seriously.

Unfortunately there have been some cases of bullying at school and class teachers, the Deputy Principals and I have dealt with the students.  Some parents have also been contacted.

We have told students that we have a “hands off” rule unless it is a part of contact sport.  Unfortunately some instances of bullying and fighting start with pushing and shoving and play fighting (mainly boys).  We have spoken to the students about our “Hands Off” policy and explained what it means.  As teachers we want all students to feel safe and enjoy school.

If your child is being bullied we need to know about it so we can deal with it.

Relief Cleaner Vacancy

Our school has a vacant position for a relief cleaner.  We have six cleaners and from time to time we need a relief cleaner to cover sickness, etc.  Work would involve cleaning classrooms from 3:10 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. approximately.  This position may lead onto permanent work as and when a vacancy occurs.  Please phone Brian Fisher, Deputy Principal, if interested.
